Cruising to Cabo San Lucas

Located at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, Cabo San Lucas is an anchor port for all cruises sailing on Mexico's Riviera. So if you are looking for adventure or relaxation you have found the ideal spot with its clear aqua color water which perfect for swimming and snorkeling.  Known as the Marlin Capital of the world, sport fishermen sets their  hopes of catching the big one here.  Speaking of the big one, whale watching is a major tourist attraction during the winter season and with one of the most famous mountain formation in the world "The Rocks of Los Arcos" is breath-takingly stunning as it is surrounded on three side by the Sea of Cortez

This quaint little city is home to a population of 100,00 and its harbor has all kinds of vessels ranging from yachts like the American’s Cup New Zealand to double decker boats which all waits your arrival with various tourist excursions.  As stated this is a harbor port, so passenger boats known as tenders' awaits your arrival to bring you on shore, which makes for a lovely up-close view of your cruiser liner as  well as seeing  the various water sports such as jet skiing and para-sailers all around you.

On this particular cruise we were only at our port o’ call for 8 hours, granted plenty of time for shopping, sunbathing or eating at any of the many cantinas along the shore.  For a nominial fee water taxi's  can take you on a 5 minute juant to the renowned resort area of Medano Beach, on this ride you will enjoy the occassional water spray  as it cools you off from the heat and humid  climate and once you reach your destination, your feet will feel refreshed as they get wet as you get out of the taxi.

As a newbie to cruising, this 4-day excursion was a perfect first voyage but for more experienced travelers you will want more time to swim with the Dolphins or go Horse-back riding on the beaches or other tours.
