CD Review: Bob Baldwin - Never Can Say Goodbye
|June 22, 2010|
Review By: Andrew Reeves
In his latest release, Bob Baldwin pays homage to the late Michael Jackson with a collection of popular hits from the pop icon’s vast repertoire.
“Never Can Say Goodbye”, released June 22, 2010 on Trippin’ N Rhythm Records, demonstrates Baldwin’s ability to recreate Jackson’s timeless classics utilizing his own unique style and artistic vision. From the soulful, blues infused cover of “I’m Bad” to his playfully upbeat “I Can’t Help It”, this ground-breaking album honors the legacy of one of the greatest musical prodigies of the 20th century.
Lending talent to this project are guitarists Chuck Loeb and Steve Oliver, flutist Ragan Whiteside, Ron Jenkins on bass, and host of others. But the heart and soul of this collection will forever be the inimitable talent of an extraordinary pianist, and his vision to transform the work of a genius into an instrumental tribute as only Bob Baldwin could produce. It is a true work of art.
