Maysa  "Very Maysa Christmas"

Record Label:  Shanachie

Are you looking for that special Christmas holiday CD?

There is nothing that will put you in the holiday spirit like good music. If you’re answer to the question is yes look no further than your favorite music store or online music spot. Just ask for “Very Maysa Christmas.” This album by far is one of the best I have heard in a long time. It is fit for just sitting around with the family singing Christmas songs or snuggled up by the fireplace with that special one or just put the CD in the player headset on and you are off shopping in that holiday spending spirit. “Very Maysa Christmas” by Maysa is the album that will put you in the spirit of giving long after the season is over. This album is highly recommended by me. It is upbeat from beginning to end with a jazzy, R&B, Gospel twist, putting you in a holiday mood like never before.

Very Maysa Christmas features innovative arrangements of  ten of the most favorite holiday songs of all time such as “Joy to the World,” “Jingle Bells,” “The First Noel,” “Christmas Time Is Here,” and “The Little Drummer Boy.” And, to add more holiday favor Maysa, is joined by special guests Smooth Jazz artists Gerald Albright on “Silver Bells” and Will Downing spicing it up with his silky soul vocals on “This Christmas,” a Donny Hathaway classic, which seals the deal. “I was blessed to have three great musicians who are not only like brothers to me but mentors join me on the album.” Maysa also gives credit to her producer Chris’Big’ Dog Davis, who is another fabulous musician.

The album also features “It’s the Holidays” an original by Maysa and the moving Edwin Hawkins gospel “Pray for Me,” which is a timely meditation Maysa delivers with the hopes of spreading healing and peace throughout the world. Plus one of the most favorites Christmas songs ever “The Night Before Christmas.”

On Very Maysa Christmas, the songbird has created what promises to be a new classic during the holiday season and throughout the year!

Look for Maysa as she joins the 2014 Dave Koz & Friends Christmas tour in November.
