Blue Note Records
In his debut album, Ravi Coltrane brings us his style of Blue Note jazz in eleven masterful tracks.
From the playful whimsy of Track 01...”Roads Cross,” thru the more urgent saxophone on Track 11...”Marilyn and Tammy,” he held my imagination in the palm of his hand, taking me on a musical journey.
I found a quiet room, closed my eyes and listened to every note played. With each song I let the music take me away; visiting places I had never been before, thoroughly enjoying each stop. A vibrant mix of saxophone, trumpet, bass, piano and drum, each instrument telling the story Coltrane wrote.
A beautifully composed addition to my jazz collection, I look forward to more projects from Ravi Coltrane in the near future.
