Kim Waters "This Heart Of Mine"

Shanachie Label

On October 25, world renowned saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist, Kim Waters returns with his latest project “This Heart Of Mine” on the Shanachie Label. The chart-topping king of Smooth Urban Jazz has proven once again why he has long held the throne with his 17th album. “This Heart Of Mine” displays what the talented saxophonist is best known for; creating soulful melodies, reinventing R&B hits and playing hot funky dance grooves, along with some seductive melodies.

"Kim Waters has built an impressive and enviable career  giving his fans what they want, along the way garnering praise from critics and fans alike and becoming one ot the top five best-selling insturmentalists in jazz.  His winning combination of sensitivity and brawn, intellect and emotion, coupled with his technique and soulfulness have helped him to score over thirteen # 1 hits and over 20 top 10 hits".

Waters is a musical wizard who plays virtually every instrument, from the saxophone to keyboards, guitar, drums, and bass while also writing nine of the eleven track compilation. The CD opens with a hot soulful vibe “Heart Seeker” and follows with “Free Fall“ that is sure to get you dancing to the groove.  “Am I A Fool” features Grammy nominated Calvin Richardson with a saxsational vibe that will leave you mesmerized. The duo also has a new video that takes the song to new heights.

Waters recreates Alicia Keys and Jay-Z's hit song “Empire State Of Mind” featuring his wife and vocalist Dana Pope and R. Kelly's “Love Letter” with back ground vocals by Tim Maia with his silky smooth jazz style. “Step To This” is a funky groove with R&B flavor that will have you feeling the beat. “I Love My Girl” and “Stay With Me Tonight” are seductive ballads to set the mood.  The up tempo “The Groove’s Alright” and “Running to Love” will have you jumping on your feet and stepping to the groovy beat.  “Double Two Love” is a beautiful slow ballad that he composed for his musically gifted twin daughters Kimberly and Kayla.

Kim Waters has rightfully earned his crown as the king of Smooth Urban Jazz! “This Heart Of Mine" is among the best Urban Smooth Jazz CDs of 2011 and come highly recommended.

It is a must buy!
